Rotonda Lakes is a deed restricted community of basically all new homes.
About
100 new houses are being built here each year. It is one of the small, delightful communities located on the Cape Haze Peninsula in
Charlotte County in the south Gulf Coast of Florida. The community is located
near the intersection of RT 776 and RT 771. This is a tranquil area of
unspoiled natural beauty and a rich history. Cape Haze Peninsula is
approximately 100 miles south of Tampa, between the cities of Sarasota and
Punta Gorda. It rests near the waters of the Myakka River and Lemon Bay. The beautiful
white sand beaches of Boca Grande and Englewood are only a few short minutes
away and provide sunbathing, swimming and beachcombing.

Hiking, biking, boating, fishing are available in the Rotonda
Lakes area and golf and tennis are nearby at the famous Rotonda courses such as
Long Marsh. You
can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, searching for seashells or do nothing except
enjoy the exotic sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. This region is often called “the gem of the Suncoast,” and when
you visit Rotonda on Cape Haze Peninsula, you will discover the reason.

Rotonda Weather and Climate
The Southwest Region of Florida, between Sarasota and Fort Myers, has
comfortable weather year round. At 5 to 25 feet above sea level, the region has
a sub-tropic climate that is checked by the tempering influence of the Gulf of
Mexico. The Peace River, as well as the Gulf of Mexico, contributes to the hot
and humid climate in the summertime (but it's not unbearable due to cooling
Gulf breezes.) Prevailing winds are normally 12-18 mph. The rainy season lasts
from June through September, with rain spread fairly evenly throughout those
months. Thunderstorms tend to pop up quickly but also dissipate just as
quickly, with the sunshine quickly returning. The winters are lovely with warm
afternoons and mild evenings and much less rain. Hurricane season generally
runs late summer through late October in the Gulf of Mexico.
